Troopers Andy Wall and Buddy Head were riding their motorcycles on Sam Ridley Parkway in front of Stonecrest Hospital in Smyrna at 2 p.m., when a crash occurred involving three vehicles and the two state troopers.

Woman Guns Down Ore. Motor Officer During Pursuit
Officer Chris Kilcullen, a 12-year veteran of the force, had pulled alongside the 1998 Buick Skylark driven by Cheryl Kidd, 56, at a red light in Springfield. When Kilcullen, 43, motioned to Kidd to pull over, the woman pulled out a handgun and opened fire, fatally wounding the officer.

The officer had spotted the van and was parked in a center divider on his bike when the driver accelerated toward the officer, striking him and dragging him across two lanes of traffic before striking a street light.
