A vehicle pursuit by Stuttgart Police began around 11 p.m. Wednesday and ended when the suspect, identified as Jacob Cole Barnes, 31, abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.

A Florida man who jumped into a swamp to avoid Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies trying to serve him warrants last January was not as successful Saturday when he put a John Deere riding lawnmower into high gear and tried to outrun pursuing deputies. Deputies tased the 40-year-old man when he tried the lawnmower getaway.

Chicago Police Propose Revised Foot Pursuit Policy
Foot pursuits stemming from minor traffic offenses remain prohibited under the revised policy. The revised policy also expands the role of supervisors to ensure there is appropriate supervision and communication if a pursuit is initiated, according to a statement from the police department.
