MS Officer Shot, Police Vehicle Stolen
Officer Roy Hurst was shot in South Memphis at around 12:30 p.m. after he followed suspect Cody Dimmett from the Memphis suburb of Southaven. Hurst had reportedly run the Dimmett's license plate and discovered he was wanted in another state.

Nashville Officer Critically Wounded, Suspect Killed in Traffic Stop Shooting
Officer Josh Baker approached the Camaro and learned the owner of the car was not the person driving, police said. The driver fired at Officer Baker, striking him, and he fired back, striking the suspect, who drove off and crashed.

Investigators say the officer, now identified as 31-year-old Nicholas Blow, was driving out of the Raines Station parking lot at 10:15 p.m. when he was hit by another vehicle.

Memphis Officer Charged with On-Duty Murder, Kidnapping
Police say Patric Ferguson then drove to the area of Frayser Blvd. and Denver Street, where they say he shot and killed Robert Howard. An affidavit says Ferguson shot Howard in the back of the squad car before moving the body to another location.
