Sheriff Says FL Deputy Shot in Head by Suspect Escaped Death by "Millimeter"

“A millimeter lower and Sgt. Dane is dead,” Chitwood told the media a few hours after the shooting during a news conference less than 100 yards from where the face-off took place on State Road 44.

K-9 Units Compete in Desert Dog Trials

The Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Police Department K-9 unit held the 2019 Desert Dog Police K9 Trials last weekend (April 6 and April 7) at Scottsdale Stadium.

Free Eye Exams to be Available to K-9s in May

This May, more than 7,500 service and working animals will receive free sight-saving eye exams in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. The annual ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam event was created as a national platform to address eye health, which is critical for the safety of the animals and their handlers.

Approximately 300 board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists will donate their time and resources to provide free screening exams to qualified service and working dogs in May.
