State Police Helicopters Hover Over MA Town Resulting in 35 Arrests

Brockton police say they arrested people involved in violent crimes and narcotics dealings and issued citations for traffic violations.

Two Massachusetts State Police helicopters spent hours hovering over the city of Brockton Wednesday night, leading to what police say was 35 arrests on various criminal charges.

Police dubbed the combined enforcement effort of Brockton police, Massachusetts State Police, Plymouth County Sheriff Deputies and Massachusetts Environmental Police "Operation Hot August Nights," WCVB reports.

Brockton police say they arrested people involved in violent crimes and narcotics dealings and issued citations for traffic violations.

According to Brockton police, patrols caught riders riding recklessly on dirt bikes and scooters which they say pose a safety risk to motorists and pedestrians.
