Featuring a panel of esteemed gang experts, the free, interactive broadcasts will explore what law enforcement and communities are doing to share gang-prevention responsibilities.
Panelists include gang specialists from federal and local law enforcement agencies, and community and faith-based organizations.
Viewers can watch the program live from their computers, submit e-mail questions to the panel, and receive answers immediately. The satellite broadcasts will enable organizations with downlink capabilities to view the programs for large audiences in a "Town Hall Meeting" setting and host post-program discussions.
Entitled "Preventing Gangs in Our Communities," the broadcasts are hosted by DOJ's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
The first broadcast will take place May 23, 2006 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET (Part 1). The second will take place June 6, 2006 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET (Part 2).
