Minn. Officer Wins SWAT Reality-TV Competition

A Minneapolis SWAT officer won the competition on the Outdoor Channel's "Elite Tactical Unit: S.W.A.T." police reality series, according to a show release.
Officer Tony Caspers edged our runner-up Scott McDonnold in the final competition, dubbed Operation Kingpin, which was a simulated cooperative warehouse raid with their respective team leaders.
The show, which was hosted by Mykel Hawke and presented by SIG Sauer, debuted as Outdoor Channel's first tactical competition series and featured two teams of special weapons and tactics operators. Competitors faced mentally rigorous and physically demanding missions during the competition for the $10,000 prize for themselves in addition to cash and prizes valued at more than $100,000 for the S.W.A.T. departments they serve back home.
Caspers, who began his law enforcement career in 1991, is assigned as a full-time S.W.A.T. officer in his agency's Special Operations Division. Caspers has been on the S.W.A.T. team for 19 years.
