VIDEO: Fla. Chase Ends In Horrific Crash, Gunfire

A double-murder suspect led officers from at least four Florida agencies on a high-speed pursuit Wednesday that ended with a tense standoff and gunfire in western Broward County.

The pursuit started around 9:45 a.m., when officers spotted a black Mercedes SUV driven by Antonio Feliu, 48, in south Miami. Feliu allegedly shot and killed a mother, 51-year-old Vivian Gallego Martinez, and her daughter, 28-year-old Anabel Benitez, during a domestic dispute in South Miami Heights, reports CBS Miami.

Officers pursued Feliu north on U.S. 27 until he broadsided a black Mercedes sedan crossing the intersection at Griffin Road. Maritza Medina, 48, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. As officers approached with guns drawn, Feliu opened fire, forcing them to retreat, reports NBC Miami.

Despite knowing Feliu was armed, officers rushed in to drag Medina from the scene, but she had already died, reports the Miami Herald.

The Broward Sheriff's SWAT team responded with its armored rescue vehicle, and SWAT teams arrived from the Miami-Dade Police Department, Pembroke Pines Police Department and Davie Police Department, reports the Sun-Sentinel.

Three SWAT vehicles surrounded the SUV by 11 a.m., and tactical officers approached the vehicle. One SWAT deputy shot a .40-caliber projectile that shattered the vehicle's rear window.

Feliu was found inside the vehicle with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.
