Police officers from Bartlesville, Edmond, Norman, and Broken Arrow along with agents from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangers Drugs Control took part in the six-course Oklahoma SWAT Competition Wednesday, reports the Tulsa World.

Norman police won the overall event and split the six categories with Edmond police. Each department won three events.

The six events measured each squad in a number of ways. Teams were ranked first through sixth after each event, and at the end of the day those numbers were totaled. The team with the lowest number won.

"This event is helpful because it allows these teams to network and discuss what they're working on and what they're seeing," Tulsa Police Capt. Ryan Perkins said. "And it allows guys to evaluate themselves and their teams and see what they do right and see what they need to work on."
