VIDEO: MA State Troopers Honored for Deadly 2015 Gunfight with Cop Killer
The team of troopers who killed a man after he shot and killed an Auburn, MA, police officer earlier this year were honored by the Massachusetts State Police Monday.
The awards ceremony was held at the Statehouse to honor 66 people, including those involved in that raid, for outstanding service to the Mass. State Police.
Trooper AJ Kardos, Trooper Michael Baker and Trooper Scott McDonald, of a special ‘tactical operations’ team, were awarded the Medal of Honor – MSP’s highest honor – for the gunfight with the violent felon who shot and killed Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr.
During the shootout, Kardos was shot in the shoulder, WFXT TV reports.
