Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were joined by FBI agents in raids on Wednesday that resulted in the arrest of 38 people.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, police said the arrestees were members of either Florencia-13, a gang based in South L.A. that’s associated with the Mexican Mafia, or the Vineland Boys, a San Fernando Valley-based gang founded in the 1980s.
LAPD Deputy Chief Kris Pitcher called the raids "an absolute success" that would "have a major impact."
