The Louisville Metro Police Department has announced that it will merge several of its existing divisions in an effort to make the agency "leaner and more focused."

According to the Courier Journal, the mergers—which will take effect in December—will allow the agency to "do more with less," Chief Steve Conrad said.

Divisions affected by the reorganization include Narcotics, Special Operations, Community Services, and others.
