The Mobile (AL) Police Department has added a new asset to its marine unit with the purchase of a new police boat.
The agency posted phots on Facebook , saying that the new 34-foot vessel—dubbed "Guardian"—will be used to fight crime on the port, guard against terrorism and participate in search-and-rescue efforts.
The vessel was purchased with funds awarded by the Department of Homeland Security – FEMA Security Grant.
