In a single-vehicle accident on I-95, Quesada was thrown from his motorcycle, which fell and slid “a significant distance” before stopping in the HOV lane, the sheriff’s office said.

The Palm Beach County (FL) Sheriff’s Office has identified Yosvani Quesada as the deputy seriously injured Saturday while working in Vice President Mike Pence’s motorcade.

In a single-vehicle accident on I-95, Quesada was thrown from his motorcycle, which fell and slid “a significant distance” before stopping in the HOV lane, the sheriff’s office said.

He arrived at the hospital Saturday in serious condition. As of Tuesday he was recovering at home, the sheriff’s office told the Palm Beach Post.

Pence tweeted Saturday afternoon, saying, “We are praying for the Sheriff’s Deputy and his family. We are grateful to everyone in the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office for all they do to keep us safe.”
