A domestic violence suspect was killed and a Glendale, AZ, police officer was injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon.
According to Glendale police, officers were called out to the area around 2 a.m.
The male suspect was eventually found barricaded inside an RV at the home armed with a gun, ABC15 reports.
Police say after many hours of negotiations, later in the afternoon, the suspect was seen holding a gun to his head. At that time, a police K-9 was deployed to try to take the man into custody.
The suspect then reportedly opened fire toward officers, striking the K-9 handler.
A SWAT officer returned fire and the suspect was shot and killed.
