Shots Fired at NC Deputy’s Home, Sheriff Offers Reward

Pittsboro, NC, police are investigating after someone fired a gun at the home of a Chatham County Sheriff’s Office deputy Monday night.

Officers were called to the deputy’s home around 9:11 p.m. Monday, according to a news release.

No one was injured, but someone was home at the time of the shooting, police said. Chatham County Sheriff Mike Roberson is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, the News and Observer reports.

“The safety and well-being of our officers and their families is of utmost importance to us,” Roberson said. “An attack on a deputy’s home is not just an attack on one person; it is an attack on the values of justice, security, and the rule of law.”
