“In the law enforcement profession, accurate, available, up-to-date information is crucial to our ability to protect the citizens we serve,” says State Police Commissioner Jeffrey B. Miller.
He adds that the PaCIC will give qualified law enforcement officers in Pennsylvania access to a wide variety of databases to help promote an exchange of information within the state as well as with information sources across the country.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) is expected to provide a grant of $600,000 to support the PaCIC. The chairman of the commission, Jim Eisenhower, says the investment in homeland security will significantly improve efforts to fight against terrorism.
