A jury has deadlocked after 5 1/2 hours of deliberations in the trial of former Austin (Texas) police officer Scott Lando, who is accused of trading drugs and money for sex with prostitutes, reports the Austin Statesman.
Laredo also allegedly brought the prostitutes to him home and gave them his wife's clothing and jewelry. He is said to have met the prostitutes as part of his community policing tactics.
During closing arguments, First Assistant District Attorney John Neal said Lando, 48, suffered "a moral, ethical and professional collapse" in 2006.
