Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's decision to bring in the FBI to investigate the officers involved in a videotaped beating from April 2009 is a political move, according to the Denver Police Protective Association.
The association's vice president Vince Gavito said the move is "political grandstanding" and the officers involved in the incident have received appropriate discipline, reports KUSA-TV.
Officer Devin Sparks lost a day of pay and Officer Randy Murr was suspected for three days.
