Denver has agreed to settle an claim brought by the son of a sheriff's deputy who said city officers used excessive force on him during an arrest outside a nightclub, ABC News reports.
Michael DeHerrera, 24, had claimed he was beaten unconscious during the April 2009 incident, after DeHerrera's friend used the ladies restroom and then got into a fight with a bouncer.
Officers arrested DeHerrera while he was calling his father, a deputy sheriff, for advice. The arrest was captured on dashboard video, as well as the city's H.A.L.O. municipal video surveillance cameras.
DeHerrera is calling for the firing of the officers, who he claims filed a false report. An independent monitor had argued that the officers used excessive force.
