Veteran Detroit Officer Struck by Wrong-Way Driver Succumbs to Injuries

Detroit Police Officer Charles Armour has died as a result of injuries he sustained a week ago, when he was struck by a wrong-way driver while directing traffic.

Detroit Police Officer Charles Armour has died as a result of injuries he sustained a week ago, when he was struck by a wrong-way driver while directing traffic.

Officer Armour, a 16-year veteran of the force, was placed into a medically induced coma this weekend after his condition deteriorated.

Saddam Hussein Mohsin was driving the wrong way in his silver Ford Focus when he struck Armour, who was directing traffic on June 6 in Greektown. Mohsin, 30, of Buffalo, N.Y., is accused of leaving the scene, assault, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.
