Two Fullerton (Calif.) Police officers will stand trial for fatal beating of a homeless man in June.
Manuel Ramos, 38, is believed to be the first officer in modern Orange County history charged for murder of on-duty actions, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Ramos is charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Cpl. Jay Cicinelli, 40, will be tried on charges of involuntary manslaughter and excessive use of force.
The officers were captured on surveillance video fatally beating a shirtless Kelly Thomas near a bus depot. Thomas later died of a collapsed windpipe.
