A 21-year-old Maryland man now faces multiple charges after he allegedly caused the deaths of 70,000 chickens in Delmar when he broke in to a poultry farm while intoxicated.
A Wicomico County Sheriff's deputy responded to the farm at 9 a.m. Aug. 25, after the property owner found Joshua Shelton in the control shed passed out in a pool of his own urine, reports WBOC.
Shelton apparently turned off the circuit breakers that controlled the electricity to the chicken houses while intoxicated. He has been charged with second-degree burglary, trespass and malicious destruction of property.
