Ga. SRO Disarms Suspect in Middle School Shooting

An off-duty Georgia police officer working as a school resource officer disarmed and detained a student who is suspected of shooting a 14-year-old classmate in the head.

The officer was able to apprehend the suspect immediately after the shooting, reports CNN .

The shooting took place at Price Middle School in Atlanta on Thursday. In addition to the 14-year-old being injured, a teacher was also wounded. The teacher was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to be released this evening.
