Safariland today announced a new adhesive product for the police and military markets with its Ultra-Strong Tape. Constructed of Dyneema GT 60 material, this heavy-duty tape offers superior adhesion, high UV resistance, and a high strength-to-weight ratio for various industrial and safety applications.
The new solid state adhesive tape from Safariland utilizes DSM Dyneema high-performance materials and manufacturing expertise to meet the need for improved strength in law enforcement and defense applications such as securely restraining suspects, enhancing safety during explosives or ordnance disposal, emergency towing or hitching, securing heavy loads, and other tactical uses.
“We are pleased to be the first to bring this adhesive tape to market,” said Todd Mackler, Vice President, Armor for Safariland. “We expect this will set the precedent for both tensile strength and adhesion force, resulting in a product that dramatically improves resistance to breakage, while also offering superior durability.”
Fifteen times stronger than existing general duct tape products, the Dyneema GT 60 material utilized in this adhesive tape is chemically inert and moisture resistant, with mechanical properties not influenced by the presence of water. This is a significant contrast to other synthetic tapes.
