After getting into a scuffle and pepper spraying a State trooper, police said a 24-year-old man tried to hide from police in Tigard, OR, by running into three homes Tuesday afternoon, reports KPTV.
At 4:15 p.m. an on-duty Oregon State Police trooper spotted a suspicious vehicle along Southwest 129th Avenue. The trooper tried to contact the man in the car, but without warning that suspect became combative and began to assault the trooper.
The trooper and the suspect continued to move along the street in physical contact and at one point, a TASER was deployed by the trooper but was ineffective. The suspect allegedly deployed pepper spray into the face of the trooper.
According to police, after running into and being kicked out of two homes, the suspect ran to a third home where he scuffled with the homeowner and was eventually arrested on scene.
Tigard police identified the suspect as John Michael Auer. Auer is being charged with assault, two counts of burglary, and escape, in addition to two warrants.
Police said Auer exhibited signs of a medical condition and was taken to a local hospital. He will be taken to jail once he is released from the hospital.
