Texas Police Continue Search for Officer Missing Since Thursday

According to Chambers County Sheriff Brian C. Hawthorne, 46-year-old Baytown Police Officer John Stewart Beasley is believed to have walked out of his house in the mid-afternoon. His cell phone — which had been separated from its battery — was found in a wooded area behind the home.

The Chambers County (TX) Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in finding a police officer who has been missing since Thursday, according to KHOU-TV.

According to Chambers County Sheriff Brian C. Hawthorne, 46-year-old Baytown Police Officer John Stewart Beasley is believed to have walked out of his house in the mid-afternoon. His cell phone — which had been separated from its battery — was found in a wooded area behind the home.

Sheriff Hawthorne said there are no indications of foul play at this time surrounding his disappearance but detectives continue to investigate all possible leads and scenarios.

Lieutenant Steve Dorris — Public Information Officer with the Baytown Police Department —told reporters that Officer Beasley has been with department for 23 years.
