Authorities say five South Carolina law enforcement officers have been shot during an active shooter incident in Florence County, reports the Associated Press.
News outlets report sheriff's Deputy Chief Glenn Kirby confirmed the incident Wednesday. Kirby says three Florence County sheriff's deputies and two city officers were shot.
The Florence County Sheriff's Office has now confirmed that one city officer has died. Two other officers were described as "touch and go," reports WPDE.
The suspect is in custody, according to authorities.
