Baltimore County Chief of Police Terrence Sheridan has about six months remaining on the job while County Executive Johnny Olszewski conducts a national search for a replacement, according to the Baltimore Sun .
Olszewski said in a statement that " Chief Sheridan is a first-class public safety professional who is well-respected by his officers and the community," but that he will be examining candidates from around the country to lead the police force for Maryland’s third largest county.
