New York Officer Wounded, Knife-Wielding Suspect Dead in Domestic Call

An officer with the New York Police Department was hospitalized on Sunday night following an incident that left a knife-wielding suspect dead.

Police had been called to reports of a domestic dispute when the reportedly intoxicated man emerged from the dwelling with a 10-inch knife in his hand.

One officer reportedly deployed a TASER, but the man continued moving toward the officers.

According to ABC News , the suspect—who may have been suicidal—was heard shouting, "Shoot me!" as he refused orders to drop the knife he was holding.

The wounded officer was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
