An officer with the Tontitown (AR) Police Department was reportedly dragged by a suspected drunk driver on Sunday night.
According to KNWA-TV, the officer was responding to a call of a man urinating beside his truck. By the time the officer arrived to the scene, the man had gotten back into the driver's seat of the vehicle.
The officer asked the driver to get out of the truck, but the man reportedly refused and began to drive away, dragging the officer for about 70 feet.
The officer was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released.
The driver—identified as 54-year old Eddie Marchant—now faces charges including aggravated assault, first degree battery, and leaving the scene of an accident.
