A Harris County Sheriff's deputy pulled an elderly woman from the window of a burning home early Tuesday morning, after smashing it out and calling to her. Both the woman and the deputy were treated for smoke inhalation.
The deputy arrived to find the home engulfed in flames and neighbors alerting the deputy to the resident's presence in a back bedroom.
Deputy Roberto Martinez smashed the window, called to the woman, lifted her through the window, and carried her to safety before collapsing from exhaustion and smoke inhalation, MyTexasDaily reports.
