An officer with the Baltimore (MD) Police Department has made it his mission in life to make a positive difference in his community.
Officer Joshua Jackson of the BPD has been rapping since he was a 14-year-old freshman in high school. Now that he's an officer with the department, he continues to pursue his art even as he pursues his law enforcement career. In fact, those two goals seem to have a lot more in common than one might immediately imagine.
The department posted a new video of Jackson—who is known in music circles as "Saint"—singing a song called "Baltimore's Finest" on Vimeo.
Saint says he is all about positivity in his music.
"I don't glorify anything that is ungodly," Jackson said in a video the department released last year.
He also said that law enforcement is "the only thing that can make your heart beat and your heart warm at the same time."
"I hope this is something that people in the streets can nod to. I hope that they can see that cops are human. I hope this song helps people connect."
