The wife of a Prichard, AL, police officer seriously injured when he was run over by a patrol vehicle last week during a foot pursuit says she expects her husband to be out of work for the rest of the year.
The wife of Officer Simeon Beeson, Mauria Beeson, spoke with FOX10 Thursday.
The suspect, James Buford, was killed in the same accident that injured Officer Beeson.
Mrs. Beeson works in law enforcement, too, as a police officer for the University of South Alabama hospitals, Fox 10 reports.
As for the injuries, she said her husband has a fracture of the vertebrae near the base of his neck. In addition, "He had a few rib fractures, cracked ribs, crushed ankle...."
Mrs. Beeson has set up a "Go Fund Me" account to pay for medical and other expenses as her husband will be off the job for months.
