A police chief in the rural area of southwestern New Hampshire holds a full-time positon with one department while also leading a neighboring agency in a part-time role.
According to the Keen Sentinel, Chief Stephen Murrell has been leading both the Alstead and Langdon police departments since early May.
Langdon Board of Selectmen Lucien Beam says that Murrell is interim chief for six months. After that, if both he and the town are happy, the position would become permanent.
