A lieutenant with the Whiteville (NC) Police Department lost his home to fire over the weekend.
According to WECT-TV, Lieutenant Andre Jackson and his wife were home at the time of the fire and called 911. They were able to safely escape the fire.

Responding fire crews were able to eventually extinguish the flames, but not before the fire had destroyed the home and everything inside it. An adjoining home in the duplex building suffered some smoke damage.
The department is asking area residents for donations to help the couple get back on their feet.
