The mayor of Little Rock, AR, on Tuesday proposed an ordinance that would establish an independent citizen review board to oversee the city's police department.

According to ArkansasOnline, Mayor Frank Scott wants the proposed board to review officers' actions based on citizen complaints.

Scott says that he believes the formation of such a board would build trust between the department and the citizens of Little Rock.

Scott made the formation of such a board one of his campaign promises late last year.
