Video: California Firefighters Rescue Rookie Officer Trapped in Back of Squad

Firefighters with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were called to assist an officer with the Antioch Police Department who was inadvertently locked in the back of a police car. The incident occurred during a training exercise where officers were to respond to a school campus.

The incident occurred during a training exercise where officers were to respond to a school campus.

The driver of the squad car locked his keys in the vehicle when he exited to respond to the campus training, leaving the rookie officer riding in the backseat stranded.

Firefighters who were participating in the training came to her aid and had her free in under 90 seconds, according to the department.
