One year after being shot in the head , Officer Matt Cooper of the Covington (GA) Police Department led a one-mile leg of the department's annual charity 5K run on Saturday.
According to CNN , Cooper was disappointed that he was unable to participate in the event last year because he was right in the middle of a series of surgeries to help him recover from his wounds.
Due to his condition, Cooper was limited to walking, along with a quick jog as he neared the finish line.
He completed the mile-long stretch alongside his wife, Kristin.
