One year after being shot in the head, Officer Matt Cooper of the Covington (GA) Police Department led a one-mile leg of the department's annual charity 5K run on Saturday.
According to CNN, Cooper was disappointed that he was unable to participate in the event last year because he was right in the middle of a series of surgeries to help him recover from his wounds.
Due to his condition, Cooper was limited to walking, along with a quick jog as he neared the finish line.
He completed the mile-long stretch alongside his wife, Kristin.
