According to Fox News , LaBeouf—most famous for his roles in the "Transformers" series of blockbuster films—said, "I want to thank the police officer who arrested me in Georgia, for changing my life."
The actor was arrested in 2017 for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and obstruction. As part of his sentencing, he was required to enroll in anger management counseling and complete a drug and alcohol evaluation.
During his stint in rehab, he wrote the autobiographical movie "Honey Boy"—the film for which he received the award over the weekend. The movie opens in theaters on Friday.
