A trooper with the Michigan State Police was injured in a rollover crash as he was responding to a call for service on Tuesday.
According to ABC News, an elderly woman reportedly ran a stop sign as the trooper was running with lights and sirens through an intersection, striking the patrol vehicle in such a way as to cause it to overturn and crash into a tree. The trooper was trapped inside until emergency crews were able to free him.
The trooper and the 80-year-old woman were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries. The trooper's K-9 partner is going to Michigan State University for an evaluation.
