An officer with the Polk County (GA) Police Department pursuing a suspect on foot down a railroad track last Tuesday was struck from behind by a train, but miraculously survived the incident.
According to WSB-TV, Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd said Officer Andy Anderson was chasing a burglary suspect when the train blaring its horn struck him and cast him into the brush beside the tracks.
Anderson was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.
