A man who officers had attempted to stop over a malfunctioning headlight reportedly opened fire on them before fleeing on foot from the scene.
According to KHOU-TV, police say the man and a female passenger—thought to be his mother—rapidly bailed out of their moving vehicle just before the man started shooting.
Officers returned fire, but no one was injured in the exchange.
The man—whose name has not been released—was later located and arrested. He faces multiple charges for the gunfight.
