Paralyzed North Carolina Trooper Released from Hospital

A motor officer with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper who was severely injured in the line of duty last year has been released from the hospital.

A motor officer with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper who was severely injured in the line of duty last year has been released from the hospital.

According to WSOC-TV, Trooper Chris Wooten has spent seven months in an Atlanta hospital recovering from serious wounds he sustained when his patrol motorcycle was struck by another vehicle during a pursuit.

Wooten will continue to receive care at the medical facility, but will now be able to live in a nearby apartment with his wife Sharon.

He is confined to a wheelchair that he controls with his mouth.
