As rioters continue to cause havoc in parts of New York, it was discovered on Monday that at least one of the participants in the mayhem painted the words "Kill Cops" on a road sign in Brooklyn.

According to the New York Post, eastbound motorists began reporting to police that they'd spotted the graffiti painted on the back side of two large signs overhanging the westbound lanes of the freeway.

Images of the words painted on the signs began to circulate on social media, prompting some citizens to increase the volume of calls to city officials asking for it to be removed or covered over.

The NYPD has yet to respond to those requests and the vandalism remains in place.
