The San Diego Police Department has reportedly ramped up its social media presence in order to be better connected with the community it serves.

According to CBS News, the agency has pushed hard in recent weeks to post "light-hearted" and "heartwarming" images and videos to its social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to show civilians how many ways that police interact with the community in non-confrontational ways.
