Stray Beagle Becomes Newest Member of Pennsylvania Department

Officers with the Susquehanna Township Police Department now have a new four-legged friend at the agency's headquarters building.

According to ABC News , officers found the stray dog alone and "not in great shape" in early September. The dog's owners were never identified.

They took the animal to a local veterinarian and kept checking on his progress. The dog was eventually transferred to a local Humane Society for further treatment.

Director of public safety Robert Martin recently told reporters that "Augie" will now be a "station dog" where will receive care and love from officers.
