Officers with the Susquehanna Township Police Department now have a new four-legged friend at the agency's headquarters building.
According to ABC News, officers found the stray dog alone and "not in great shape" in early September. The dog's owners were never identified.
They took the animal to a local veterinarian and kept checking on his progress. The dog was eventually transferred to a local Humane Society for further treatment.
Director of public safety Robert Martin recently told reporters that "Augie" will now be a "station dog" where will receive care and love from officers.
