An officer with the Paterson (NJ) Police Department reportedly shot and wounded a man who allegedly attempted to rob him on Sunday night.
According to NorthJersey.com, the officer was getting out of his personally owned vehicle when he was reportedly confronted by a group of four armed robbers.
The officer drew a firearm and shot at least one of the attackers, who was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
The officer—whose name has not been released—was reportedly unhurt during the incident.
