Kansas City, MO, officers used spike strips to interrupt a street racing event called a "sideshow" Tuesday night, Fox 4 reports.

Police said they wrote 67 tickets, towed 18 vehicles and recovered one gun at the scene, KMBC reports.

There are no reports of vehicles hitting the tire deflation devices.

KCPD also said people threw bricks at officers from an overpass but no officers were injured.

Sideshows came to the front of public scrutiny in Kansas City this past summer. The illicit events have caused excessive noise, property damage and some violence. A 19-year-old was killed at a sideshow in September, Fox 4 reports.
