$5,000 Reward Offered as Police Seek Stolen Boston Uniforms

The stolen police uniforms include a lightweight jacket with Boston Police stamped on the back, a short sleeve shirt similar to what Boston’s bike officers wear, uniform pants, a leather jacket and a dress coat both with Boston Police patches on the sleeve.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person who stole Boston Police uniforms from a Weymouth, MA, supply store in late March.

Weymouth Police released photos of the Boston Police uniforms that were stolen from Andrea’s Police and Fire Supply sometime between March 27 at 3:30 p.m. and March 28 at 9:30 a.m.

The stolen police uniforms include a lightweight jacket with Boston Police stamped on the back, a short sleeve shirt similar to what Boston’s bike officers wear, uniform pants, a leather jacket and a dress coat both with Boston Police patches on the sleeve, CBS Local reports. The thieves also took a bullet-resistant vest.

With the Boston Marathon on Monday, officers have been told to be on high alert. Sources CBS Boston because of the concern about the stolen uniforms, Boston Police have put in special security protocols for the marathon.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is helping Weymouth Police with the case.
